Commitment to Diversity
CUNY School of Law is deeply committed to diversity. It is our stated mission to help diversify the legal profession.
We are one of the most diverse law schools in the nation. A little more than 44 percent of our student body are people of color, and 63 percent are women. More than 45 percent of students are first- or second-generation immigrants.
We are home to 50 full-time faculty, 42 percent of whom are people of color, and 68 percent of whom are women.
National Jurist magazine has ranked CUNY Law the 2nd most diverse law school in the nation and U.S. News & World Report ranks us in the top 10 for diversity.
Our diversity statement derives from the diversity vision statement of the City University of New York.
CUNY School of Law's diversity plan follows the Diversity Action Plan put forward by the City University of New York in 2012.
