POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES

The School of Law seeks a motivated and accomplished individual who will manage on- and off-campus recruiting activities along with application review processes. Develop and maintain relationships with selected academic divisions/departments to coordinate recruiting efforts.

Primary duties involve:

  • Manage a busy, service-oriented office and ensure effective and timely day-to-day admissions operations.

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies and recruitment initiatives.

  • Manage one or more teams of admissions/recruiting staff, providing supervision, training, and development.

  • Participate in the goal setting, development and execution of processes that enable the Law School to achieve its targets including application review.

  • Responsible for supporting faculty admissions and related committees and staying abreast of curricular changes, new and proposed academic programs, current course offerings, transfer credits, and other relevant initiatives in order to review, develop, and enforce Law School admissions policies and procedures.

  • Identify technological needs, spearhead new initiatives, and collaborate with IT to improve and maintain the systems that support the law school admissions processes and student recruitment efforts.

  • Develop a solid understanding of the Law School's admissions process to support effective applications processing and data reporting. Coordinate and manage staff with the evaluation and interpretation of academic records for admission.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree and six years of related experience required; JD preferred. Experience working in an admissions office, a law school, or a not-for-profit administrative office is a plus. Strong computer skills essential; knowledge of admissions computer systems and prospect databases, social networking, Admit M, ACES2, MS Office Excel and Crystal Report writing experience preferred. The ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, flexibility and multi-tasking in a confidential, professional setting is expected. Working independently as well as collaboratively in an environment characterized by heavy workloads, time pressure and client interaction is crucial. Ability to work positively and proactively with a team and various departments within the law school as well as external constituencies is also critical. Experience in staff supervision preferred.
