CUNY Law moved to 2 Court Square in Long Island City at the end of May 2012. Fall classes are being held in the new location.
The move to Long Island City, New York, greatly enhances our ability to carry out our mission to diversify the legal profession and to train the next generation of public interest lawyers. The new location is within walking distance of seven subway lines (two within one stop of Manhattan), the Long Island Railroad, and eight bus lines. It is only a few blocks from the Long Island City Courthouse.
This central location allows for an easier commute from all five boroughs and from around the region. With its greater centrality, our mission will be enhanced by our closer proximity to the public interest community and to our clients.
2 Court Square
Long Island City, NY
(Corner of 44th Rd. & Hunter St.)
CUNY fully owns and operates the first six floors of 2 Court Square in Long Island City, NY. These floors are for the Law School's exclusive use and feature its own entrance, prominent signage, security perimeter, and devoted elevator bank. Our six stories, which comprise 225,000 square feet, form a plinth upon which the rest of the 14-story structure rests. The structural break above the sixth story visually and physically separates the lower building from the tower above.
