The large scale window installation is part of the Sorensen Center’s recently launched Justice Through Art Initiative, a collaboration between CUNY Law’s community and artists in an effort to bring new perspectives and depth to social justice issues.

In the face of DACA revocation and ongoing attacks on immigrants, the 1001 Voices exhibition celebrates CUNY Law’s commitment to support and protect immigrants through clinics, community partnerships, scholarship, student groups, and work of alumni.

The launch event featured Cesar Vargas, New York’s first undocumented lawyer; the artists; Professor Nermeen Arastu, and a performance of the 1001 Voices Anthem with music composed by Grammy Award winner Frank London, performed by the choir from Queens College Aaron Copland School of Music.
