Note that you must enter your law school e-mail address (the one ending in mail.law.cuny.edu) and you must enter the Promotion Code in the Promotion Code box. Alumni: You do not have a Promotion Code. Just follow the on-line instructions. Have one of the following credit cards available when you register: Visa, MC, Amex, Discover.
Students and alumni: You will then receive an e-mail from LawCrossing with an address to copy and paste in your browser to activate your account. Follow the instructions there concerning choosing your user name and password.
At that point you will be signed-up and able to use all the features of the site. If you do not receive that e-mail with the link, you may have to check your security settings and make sure that the e-mail is not being treated as SPAM. Intercollegiate Job Bank
CUNY Law School participates in the Intercollegiate Job Bank, a web resource in which 130 law schools from across the country post a compendium of job notices which are updated on a monthly basis. The Job Bank is coordinated by Brigham Young University School of Law. Students. CUNY Students should email us for access.

Check with your law school to see whether it participates in this Job Bank. If your school is not a participant of the Job Bank, please ask your career services office to make a reciprocity request by contacting us. Decisions on access will be made on a case by case basis. If access is granted, it will be limited to your accessing on one of the computers in the Career Planning Office at CUNY School of Law. There will be no off-campus access to our Symplicity job database.
There are a number of sources of pro bono opportunities for lawyers and law students in New York. The following websites provide listings, searchable by county, subject area and population served. Under the category "Projects For," there are listing specifically for law students. State Judicial Clerkship (and other judicial opportunity) Applicants
Visit the Vermont Law School's Guide to State Judicial Clerkship Procedures. A user name and password are required. Contact the Career Planning Office for access.
Also visit the National Center for State Courts (NCSC). No password is required.
State clerkships are typically less competitive than federal clerkships, and such high grades are not a prerequisite. For the NY metro area, the NJ Judiciary offers the most opportunities and applications should go directly to each judge - Career Planning will have materials available for this route too. Over the years several CUNY Law students have accepted NJ Supreme Court clerkships to begin in the Fall of the year of their graduation. Applications are submitted during Fall semester of the third year. A booklet on applying for New Jersey State Court clerkships is available.
