Dear 2Ls and 3Ls,
The Information Technology department would like to welcome you back for the Fall semester 2010. We are excited to announce LIVE@CUNY Law, a new email and communications suite for CUNY students. Through a CUNY-wide partnership with Microsoft, we are offering students a state-of-the-art email and communications suite.

Currently only the incoming 1Ls are on this system, but we are planning to move the 2Ls and 3Ls on the weekend of August 20th, 21st & 22nd, 2010. Our plan is to move all of your email from the current email system to the new LIVE@CUNY Law system starting Friday, August 20, 2010 at 5:00 pm. It is essential that you do not access either of the email systems while we do the transfer of your emails on the weekend of August 20th, 21st & 22nd, 2010.
Your new email address will be in the form of "first-name.last-name@live.law.cuny.edu". Please stop by the Registrars Office to pick up your exam ID, because as the FAQs indicate we are using your exam ID as part of your initial password. If you do access your email account on LIVE@CUNY Law, please DO NOT change your email account password before the transfer process has been completed because this will cause problems in transferring your email. For a period of 6 months, we will forward any email sent to your old email address directly to your LIVE@CUNY Law email address.
Please note that only students are moving to LIVE@CUNY Law email system. Faculty and staff will remain in the current email system and their email addresses will not change. Alumni email will eventually be moved into LIVE@CUNY Law as well, but not at the present time.
