UN Documentation Centre

Maintained by the UN, this site provides access to UN documents available on UN Web sites. Includes links to documents produced by the UN General Assembly, Security Council, Economic & Social Council, Secretariat, International Court of Justice and the Trusteeship Council. If you can't find particular documents you are looking for, try the "Readex AccessUN" site, listed below. Not all UN documents are available on the Web, but if you have document citations you can ask our Reference Librarians where you might be able to obtain the documents. The CUNY School of Law Library does have selected UN documents relating to human rights and disarmament in its microfiche collection.

If the particular documents you want are not available in full-text on this database, note the citations and ask our Reference Librarians where you might be able to obtain the documents. Many UN documents are also available in full-text from the UN Documentation Centre Web site, listed above.

An excellent research guide maintained by the American Society of International Law.

United Nations Documentation: Research Guide

A guide prepared by the United Nations Dag Hammarskjold Library that "provides an overview of the various types of documents and publications issued by the Organization (e.g, reports, resolutions, meeting records, sales publications, press releases) and gives guidance on how to work with them. This is an excellent introduction to UN research.

United Nations Scholars' Workstation

A guide to UN research provided by Yale University. Some databases and materials referenced are specific to Yale's collection, but it's a good research guide for anyone.
