CUNY School of Law provides access to health insurance plans including GHI/CUNY Student Health Program and the American Bar Association Group Health Insurance Plan. Also available are New York State plans which include Family Health Plus, a no-cost insurance program for adults, Healthy New York for uninsured workers, and CHOICE, the New York Medicaid plan. The Office of Student Affairs will assist any student who would like more information

FAMILY HEALTH PLUS

NY State's no-cost health insurance program for adults who do not currently have health insurance - either on their own or through their employers but have incomes too high to qualify for Medicaid. Family Health Plus is available to single adults (age 19-64 earning up to $10,890.00 per year), couples without children, and parents with low income (parents in a family of 4 earning up to $33,525 per year), who live in NY State and are US Citizens or fall under one of many immigrant categories. NO co-payments, deductibles or contributions once a student has enrolled. Application, certain information, and personal interview required.

The Healthy NY program is designed to assist small business owners in providing their employees and their employees' families with the health insurance they need and deserve. In addition, uninsured workers whose employers do not provide health insurance may also purchase comprehensive coverage directly through the Healthy NY program. Rates vary by plan and county you live in.
