SUMMARY:10th Anniversary of Floyd v. City of NY  “Stop-and-Frisk” Case
DESCRIPTION:Details\nVince Warren\, 2023-24 W. Haywood Burns Chair\, will lead a panel discussion on how movement lawyers and community advocates collaborated to address NYPD racial profiling. \nPanelists will include Kadiatou Diallo\, mother of Amadou Diallo; Joo-Hyun Kang\, founding Executive Director\, Communities United for Police Reform; Jonathan Moore\, co-lead trial counsel in Floyd and CUNY Law Adjunct Professor; Shira Scheindlin\, Judge (retired)\, United States District Court\, S.D.N.Y.; Djbril Toure\, Floyd case witness. \nPresented by the Center for Diversity in the Legal Profession at CUNY Law and the Center for Constitutional Rights \nCo-sponsored by student organizations \nDoors open 6pm\, Starts promptly at 6:15pm \nDinner will be provided \nNew York CLE Credit (1 credit in “Diversity\, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias”\, and 0.5 credits in “Professional Practice”) will be available to attorneys who attend in-person. This CLE program is approved for both experienced and newly admitted attorneys\, except that under CLE Regulations\, newly admitted attorneys are not eligible for the 1.0 diversity credit. Consistent with NY State regulations\, CLE credit will be offered only to those attorneys completing the entire session; attorneys attending only part of a session are not eligible for partial credit. Attorneys arriving late are welcome to attend the program but will not be eligible for credit. \n  \nRSVP
