SUMMARY:Contested Care: Legal Implications of Gender-Affirming\, Reproductive\, and End-of-Life Decisions (CLE)
DESCRIPTION:This Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program will give an overview of the recent attacks on bodily autonomy\, focusing on gender affirming care/attacks on trans people\, reproductive rights\, and end of life decisions. It will discuss how we got here\, what large scale litigation is happening\, how you can help clients who may be impacted\, and the intersections of these three contested and vital issues. \nPresenters:\nAmitai Heller ‘15\, Senior Staff Attorney\, Compassion & Choices\nEm Lawler ‘14\, Training Manager and Counsel\, Repro Legal Defense Fund\nLauren Paulk ‘13\, Senior Research Counsel\, If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice\nMilo Primeaux ‘13\, Civil rights attorney and founding CEO of Just Roots Consulting \nCredits:\n3 CLE credits: 1 Professional Practice\, 1 Ethics & Professionalism\, 1 Diversity\, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias \nCost:\nFree for CUNY Law alumni\, faculty\, staff\, and students. $75.00 for all others. Click here to register. \n  \nCLE Credits are provided by the Community Legal Resource Network at CUNY School of Law:\nThis CLE program is approved for both experienced and newly admitted attorneys\, except that newly admitted attorneys are not eligible for the diversity credit. Consistent with NY State regulations\, CLE credit will be offered only to those attorneys completing the entire session; attorneys attending only part of a session are not eligible for partial credit. Attorneys arriving late are welcome to attend the program but will not be eligible for credit. Also note that for remote trainings\, attorneys must attend on the webinar; we cannot extend credit for audio-only participation.
