SUMMARY:Lawyering in the Age of Data Surveillance and Artificial Intelligence (CLE)
DESCRIPTION:This Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program will focus on the use of AI and its impact\, ethical considerations of legal security and privacy for attorneys and our clients\, including both government monitoring and cyber-attacks from outside forces. It will also discuss emerging technology and Fourth Amendment law\, exploring the legality of reverse warrants\, automatic license plate readers\, and data brokers. The ethical requirements for defense attorneys\, prosecutors and legal counsel for law enforcement when surveillance tools are utilized in criminal cases will be discussed. \nPresenters:\nJonathan Stribling-Uss ‘12\, Founder and Director\, Constitutional Communications\nSidney Thaxter ‘11\, Senior Litigator\, Fourth Amendment Center at National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers \nCredits:\n3 CLE credits: 1 Cybersecurity\, Privacy and Data Protection-Ethics\, 1.5 Professional Practice\, 0.5 Ethics & Professionalism \nCost:\nFree for CUNY Law alumni\, faculty\, staff\, and students. $75.00 for all others. Attorneys arriving late are welcome to attend the program but will not be eligible for credit.
