SUMMARY:Protecting Privacy in New York: The Case for a State Constitutional Privacy Amendment Summit
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Join us for a day of advocacy\, including a Know Your Rights training and a panel on the state of current events regarding our rights around privacy here in New York. \nFundamental rights are increasingly under attack through this current administration and by the U.S. Supreme Court who has sharply weakened federal constitutional protections for privacy and bodily autonomy. This year\, we have introduced the Privacy Amendment A.9377 (Shimsky) / S.8603 (Ramos) which will establish an explicit right to privacy. This legislation will contribute to the advancement of civil rights\, racial justice\, bodily autonomy\, LGBTQ+ rights\, immigrant rights\, and gender justice here in New York. \n  \nA Know Your Rights: Digital Privacy Workshop (10:15 a.m. – 11: 45 a.m.) \nPrivacy Amendment Panel (12:00 p.m. – 12:50 p.m.) \n  \n  \nRSVP HERE [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
