DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Panel discussion about photography exhibit and book “Ending Isolation: The Case Against Solitary Confinement. \nWindow Into Solitary is a documentary storytelling project focusing on 17 formerly incarcerated people from across the U.S. who have spent extensive amounts of time in solitary confinement. In addition to powerful photographic images\, the project includes written testimony by the participants about their experiences in solitary and their thoughts about its widespread use across the U.S. carceral system. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]This Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program presents an overview of the two federal long-term disability benefit programs administered under the Social Security Administration (SSA): Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). This CLE will discuss the major differences between SSI and SSDI and review basic eligibility requirements for each program. We will review the entire complex process through initial application\, the layers of internal appeals\, and the administrative law judge (ALJ) hearing. Attendees will learn about SSA regulations\, best practice tips\, and practical guidance for issues that arise when a client wins this potentially life-changing benefit.
