DESCRIPTION:The Institute on Gender\, Law\, and Transformative Peace Initiative (The Institute) at the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law will host a Global Forum led by the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and Executive Director Leymah Gbowee. The mission of the Institute is to reimagine policymaking from the perspective of social movements\, bringing those most impacted by crisis and conflict into the policy-development process. \nThe Institute’s Global Forum will convene scholars\, organizers\, and grassroots peace activists from around the world to discuss transformative peace\, policymaking\, and movement-building in these times. The Global Forum will consist of a closed two-day workshop for scholars\, grassroots activists\, and organizers\, as well as a public panel event. \nA public panel event on November 16 will convene global thought leaders to explore what transformative peace could look like in these times\, and how to strengthen and deepen possibilities for transnational movement building and solidarity. \nJoin us in celebrating this new initiative at CUNY.
