SUMMARY:2024 Haywood Burns Contemplative Social Justice Law Retreat
DESCRIPTION:About the Retreat\nFor more than 20 years\, a community of staff\, students\, faculty\, and alumni have gathered at this annual treat to sit with the weight of social justice lawyering. \nTaking a moment to pause and center yourself is vital for all of us\, especially for those engaged in the study and practice of social justice law. This year’s retreat takes place on March 22-March 24\, 2024 and will be held at the Blue Cliff Monastery in Pine Bush\, New York. \nFor those of you who have attended\, you know how valuable this 3-day break is to recalibrate and refocus in community. We want to share this reflective practice and remove financial obstacles for students who’d like to join. In the past\, the generosity of the alumni community has meant that student fees have been fully covered!  We are hoping to do this again for the 2024 Spring Retreat. \nPlease consider making a contribution to cover student costs. \nRegistration\nCapacity is limited\, so please ensure you can attend if you register for this event. \nStudents can register here\, at no cost. \nAll other community members can register here.

DESCRIPTION:For over 20 years\, a small community of staff\, students\, faculty\, and alumni have gathered at this annual retreat to sit with the weight of social justice lawyering. Taking a moment to pause and center yourself is vital for all of us\, especially for those engaged in the study and practice of social justice law. \nThis year’s retreat takes place on March 22-24\, 2024\, and will be held at the Blue Cliff Monastery in Pine Bush\, New York. \nThis year’s theme is: The Revolution Starts Within. We all benefit from honing our inner strength\, to make sure our actions and communications are grounded in our highest alignment with Self. Space is limited this year so we are prioritizing direct CUNY Law folks\, and we will let registrants know if we have additional space for including family members. \nAlumni are fundraising to ensure that finances will not impede any student from attending. DESCRIPTION:A preview of the April 2 Clinic Information Program presenting Part-Time program specific information. \nEvening students have the option to enroll in a Clinic in either the 5th or 7th Semester. Interim Clinic Dean Stephen Loffredo will hold a Saturday preview of the in-person Information Program CUNY Law Clinic faculty will present on Tuesday\, April 2nd at 5:15pm. \nThis preview provides an opportunity to discuss evening-student specific curriculum planning issues with Dean Loffredo. \nThis Saturday online program will be recorded\, but may not be available for posting in time for the Tuesday afternoon Clinic Information Program\, so please consider watching the program live on Saturday. \nZoom Code will be provided by email.
