Guidelines for External Communications
To maintain a cohesive and impactful message across all our platforms, we adhere to the following guidelines:
- External Audiences: All materials intended for external audiences, including alumni, students, faculty, and staff, are guided and reviewed by our Communications team to ensure consistency with our institutional voice. This guidance and review may be extended to other areas of Institutional Advancement to ensure alignment.
- Media Relations: Any releases, pitches, or materials intended for media outlets must be reviewed and approved by Communications. Please refer to our editorial style guide and reach out to our team for assistance with media-related content.
- Brand Integrity: We are committed to preserving the integrity of the CUNY Law brand. Communications reserves the right to request revisions or decline content that does not align with our brand identity or poses a conflict with the CUNY Law Foundation.

Editorial & Communication Strategies
We work across audiences and throughout the Law School to plan and execute strategic communications and marketing plans that include reputation and brand management, key message development, digital marketing approaches, multimedia engagement, and digital strategy.

Visual Design and Branding
Our visual identity and brand guidelines connect CUNY Law’s many entities and ensure our commitment to public interest law shines through in all communications. From our logos and visual brand standards to templates that support accessible and universal design, these standards help us present a unified, distinctive voice that reflects our mission of justice, diversity, and excellence in legal education.

Web & Digital Communications
We lead user experience, content strategy, design, and front-end development efforts for CUNY Law websites and properties. We continue to develop the website into an increasingly effective tool for informing and connecting our full community, providing news content, improving design, and promoting an accessible, effective user experience.
