In her forthcoming article “Preventing Attrition: Critical Interventions to Close the Racial Gap in Not Transfer-Attrition,” published by the Widener Law Review, Allie Robbins explores how law schools are losing students of color to non-transfer withdrawals at a rate 19% higher than white students. Robbins argues law schools can close the gap by increasing faculty engagement with academic skills-teaching, helping students meet challenges, fostering a sense of belonging, addressing issues of mental health and substance abuse, and treating students as individuals capable of growth and success.
