Steve Zeidman writes for The Syracuse Post-Standard: “The reality of mass incarceration — too many people serving too many years — is a larger statement about power and racism. Yet on a micro level it is possible to identify many institutional enablers who implemented the policies that fueled mass incarceration. Those same sources — and not merely Cuomo — refuse to do anything to redress the harm they caused, even in the face of a pandemic.”
