Sarah Valentine is a professor at CUNY School of Law.  She teaches in the areas of New York Practice, Civil Procedure, Professional Responsibility and lawyering.  Her scholarship has concentrated on legal education and pedagogy, and on the need to secure safe and ethical treatment of queer youth in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. In addition to authoring several book chapters, her law review articles have appeared in such journals as the Journal of Law and Education, University of Baltimore Law Review, Michigan State Law Review, Yale Journal of Law and Feminism, the New York City Law Review, and Temple Law Review.  She served as Academic Dean at CUNY School of Law from 2012 – 2015.  Prior to coming to CUNY School of Law she practiced public interest law at MFY Legal Services in East Harlem, Legal Aid for Rockland County, and as managing attorney of Legal Services of the Hudson Valley.  She earned her JD degree (1989) and MLIS degree (1985) at Florida State University.
