Cozen O’Connor has promoted Chicago attorney and CUNY Law alum Matthew Policastro ‘09 from associate to member in its Subrogation and Recovery Group.
Policastro is an experienced litigator who concentrates his practice on large property loss subrogation involving fires and explosions, water damage claims, construction defects and structural failures, and financial fraud and employee theft claims across the United States. Policastro has successfully tried cases to verdict in multiple jurisdictions and has significant experience in all phases of litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
Prior to joining Cozen O’Connor in 2019, he worked for an insurance litigation firm in Chicago where he primarily handled subrogation, insurance defense, and commercial litigation matters.
A native of Chicago’s Lincoln Park area, and a graduate of St. Patrick High School (2002), Policastro currently resides in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. He earned his J.D. (2009) from City University of New York School of Law, where he was an associate editor of the New York City Law Review. He received his B.A. in history and philosophy from Fordham University (2006). He frequently volunteers his time to various social organizations throughout the Chicago area, including the Fordham Alumni Chapter of Chicago.
