Fatema Jannat (’19), a second-year student in our part-time program is featured in a PBS special about the impact of settlement houses in New York.

In the video, Jannat describes how Jacob Riis Settlement House served as safe haven for her while growing up in the Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City. She went to work in youth development, and today works as an executive assistant at Riis Settlement. Thinking about youth issues and youth incarceration in particular, led her to law school.
