Dear Law School community:
I trust that you received the attached email from the Chancellor lifting the mask mandate for all CUNY campuses effective tomorrow, March 7.
At a meeting last Friday, the overwhelming majority of faculty requested that we remain masked while in the building through the end of the semester. A survey this weekend showed similar faculty support for continued masking.
There are many of us who must maintain our vigilance because we are immunocompromised, at higher risk of infection, or are caring for others who are at risk. I therefore urge everyone to continue to voluntarily wear masks in classes and common areas, except in designated eating areas, for the remainder of the term. I also ask that we be especially respectful and supportive of requests by community members concerned about mitigating risks for themselves and their loved ones as we adapt to this new phase.
We will continue to make masks available through the end of the semester and, as always, will remain alert to our community’s ongoing health and safety needs.
