Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff:
I hope you’ve all had a well-deserved, restorative winter break. We are looking forward to welcoming you to campus this spring semester.
While we await further guidance on next week’s start of classes, I wanted to highlight important information from the Chancellor’s January 5 email regarding the upcoming term.
Henceforth, please ensure that you read not only communications from CUNY Central but also official announcements and updates regarding campus reopening that will be emailed to the community from the Dean’s Office, posted in the highlighted section at the top of our website at law.cuny.edu/virtual, and shared via Twitter @CUNYLaw.
- Get Vaccinated and Boosted. Students are required to be fully vaccinated and boosted as soon as they are eligible. Associated vaccination deadlines and timetables are on CUNY’s website. Staff is required either to be fully vaccinated or participate in the Cleared4 testing program. Upload proof of vaccination in CUNYfirst, wait for it to be approved, then register for the “CUNY Access Pass” for faculty, staff (access the IT guide on how to upload online), and students; students who have not uploaded proof of vaccination by January 18 will be de-registered by the University. Further details on the student booster mandate and faculty vaccination mandate, including any booster requirement, are forthcoming.
- Access FREE PCR Tests. FREE PCR tests for CUNY students and employees needing testing for any reason are available at these sites. See CUNY’s FAQ on the testing program for details.
- Review Updated CDC Guidelines. Students and employees who test positive for COVID-19 should isolate for at least 5 days. CUNY will follow the CDC’s recently issued guidance adjusting the recommended quarantine and isolation times.
- Prepare to return to work 70% in-person beginning February 28. For staff and faculty, the spring work agreements you have submitted will take effect Monday, February 28. As we’ve previously communicated, this means reporting to work in person 7 out of any 14-day or 2-week cycle as arranged with your departmental supervisor. Until then, your Fall 2021 work agreements remain in effect.
As always, please refer to CUNY’s website for the latest requirements and resources.
For questions about student vaccination requirements, please email studentvax@law.cuny.edu. For information on our COVID health and safety measures, please visit law.cuny.edu/virtual/. For all other questions, please reach out to coronavirus.coordinator@law.cuny.edu.
Best,
Eduardo R. C. Capulong, Interim Dean
