Will Bloom (he/him) joined the faculty of CUNY School of Law in 2026. Bloom’s advocacy and scholarship focus on the law of workers and unions. In practice and as a teacher and writer, Bloom has focused on how the law regulates, affects, and is shaped by worker power, the ways in which workers organize themselves to collectively exercise that power, and the interaction between the law and those organizations and exercises of power.
Prior to CUNY, Bloom was an attorney at the firm Despres, Schwartz, and Geoghegan, where he represented workers, unions, and union reform caucuses, advising them on a broad range of organizational matters and representing them in court and in administrative proceedings. Before that, he was a Skadden Fellow at the Community Activism Law Alliance, collaborating with workers’ centers in Chicago to help immigrant workers organize and win better working conditions. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Union Democracy and remains active providing trainings on labor law and union democracy law through union reform caucuses and other organizations supporting rank and file worker organizing.
