Here, Every Student Carries a Vision for Justice

Our students bring bold ideas, lived experience, and a deep commitment to their communities. They come to law school not just to earn a degree—but to transform the law into a tool for equity, access, and change.

But the journey is not without obstacles. Financial barriers still stand in the way of too many students and the futures they are ready to build.

Your gift to the Annual Fund helps change that.

Contributions support scholarships, summer public interest fellowships, bar exam prep, and emergency aid—essential resources that help students stay on track and thrive.

Your Support
Makes Justice Possible

Scholarships

Scholarships ease financial barriers that keep talented students from pursuing public interest law. Whether covering three years or a single semester, scholarships expand access, fuel purpose-driven legal careers, and help shape a justice system that reflects and serves our communities.

Public Interest Summer Grants

Each summer, more than 100 students apply for grants to cover unpaid internships at organizations advancing housing rights, labor protections, immigrant justice, LGBTQIA+ rights, criminal legal reform, and more. Yet with current resources, only about half of those applicants can be funded. With your support, we can close a $300,000 gap and open the door for more students to pursue the work they came to CUNY Law to do.

Emergency Grants

Life doesn’t pause for law school. Students face urgent needs like medical bills, housing instability, childcare emergencies, or technology failures. Grants of $500–$3,000 provide immediate relief that helps students continue their studies and stay engaged in their pursuit of justice.

Bar Grants

Preparing for the bar exam requires full-time study, but many graduates also face rent, groceries, childcare, and other essential costs. Without support, this period can become an impossible choice between paying bills and preparing to pass. Your gift eases this strain by helping cover living costs, so graduates can focus on the exam and launch their legal careers with stability.

Together, we can build a more just tomorrow.

This CUNYTuesday season, stand with CUNY Law students. Your gift expands the support they need to take the next step—from the classroom to the frontlines of justice.

CUNY Law students and mentors build community, share resources, and support pathways to legal careers through active engagement.
