The First Impressions Youth Legal Collaborative welcomed thirty-six students and seven advisors from Queens South High School’s My Sister’s Keeper Program to CUNY Law for a day of learning. High Schools represented were: Epic High School South, High School for Law Enforcement and Public Safety, Jamaica Gateway to the Sciences and Pathways College Prep High School. The program began with the MSK creed being recited by the students, led by Efua Hagan, Administrator of Special Education, Division of School Leadership, Office of Superintendent Dr. Josephine Y. Van-Ess, Queens South High Schools-Districts 27, 28, 29.

Students participated in a mock law school class taught by Professor Jared M. Trujillo and attended by Professor Ann Cammett. Admissions staff provided a tour of the law school. Law students Rasheeda Allison 2L and Miles Evans 3L shared their journeys and experiences as undergraduate and law students. Hon. Tracey A. Bing presented the First Impressions Summer Institute program and words of inspiration for dreaming big and reaching goals. Dean Setty addressed the students and shared her experience as an attorney and leader in higher education. The program began with the MSK creed being recited by the students, led by Efua Hagan, Administrator of Special Education, Division of School Leadership, Office of Superintendent Dr. Josephine Y. Van-Ess, Queens South High Schools-Districts 27, 28, 29. Lunch was provided, offering students the opportunity to ask questions about law school and the summer institute. It was an inspiring and impactful experience for all.
