A night of lightning-round interview practice hosted by Career Planning

February 1, 2024, alumni, allies, and students came together for an evening of conversation and connection at the annual Speed Mock Interview night hosted by the Office of Career Planning.

The signature event taps alumni and legal professionals working in various career paths to put students through their paces. Nailing the interview is a big deal, and practice with alumni who know how the unique experiences of a CUNY Law degree set our students apart makes a difference. Students got to practice interviewing with volunteers working in legal aid, district attorney’s offices, criminal defense work, environmental law, and small and big firm practice.

Students were happy to have the experience.

“I am overjoyed and overwhelmed with gratitude,” shared one participant. “This is exactly the confidence boost I needed to keep pushing along, and it’s largely because of all y’all do! I feel so at peace knowing that not only will I likely have an internship secured, but employment is not too far out of sight. My biggest issue may be choosing where I want to focus, which is a blessing.”

A huge thanks to Rosemary Almonte, Paul Anderson, Keith Andresen, Jonathan Cantarero, Shonna Carlson, Megan Carr, Sam Claflin, Jake, Daudi Justin, Devika Kewalramani, Sam Kohn, Mackenzie Lew, Anna Ognibene, Jada Osabu, Victoria Pilger, and Abigail Ramos who volunteered their time and talent.
