David Baluarte

David Baluarte (he/él) joined CUNY Law as the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and a Professor of Law in January 2024. Baluarte is a lawyer, teacher, and scholar of immigration, refugee and statelessness protection, and international human rights. Baluarte began his academic career with the International Human Rights Law Clinic at American University Washington College of Law in 2009 and then served as the Founding Director of the Immigrant Rights Clinic at Washington and Lee University School of Law (W&L Law) from 2013-2023, also serving as W&L Law’s Associate Dean for Academic Affairs during that time.
