The lawyers of Court Square Law would like to express our solidarity with and for the Black Lives Matter movement, CUNY BLSA, and the CUNY Law community. Our country has been built upon a history of racism. Mass incarceration, redlining in housing, inequality in school funding, discriminatory bank lending policies have all combined to create undeniable disparities that affect Black people from cradle to grave. Not only must we as a nation acknowledge our past and present systemic inequalities that have become normalized in American society, but meaningful and massive systemic change, which is unequivocally long overdue, must be fought for in perseverance and ultimately won.
We at Court Square Law are committed to a more just and equal society. We stand firmly with the Black Lives Matter movement and share in its aspirations and goals to achieve this equality, not forgetting the past so that we don’t fall prey to repeating past evils, and to move forward together toward a future where such injustices have no foundation upon which to stand. We offer our solidarity with all those rising up to defend Black lives and to resist racism and state violence across the world.
