CUNY School of Law is proud to announce that Bibi N. Amin, Assistant Director of Outreach and Operations in the Admissions Office, has been selected to receive the AALS Section on Pre-Law and Admission to Law School’s Up-and-Comer Award, a national honor recognizing emerging leaders who are expanding access to legal education for students historically underrepresented in the legal profession.
The award celebrates individuals with fewer than ten years of experience in pre-law advising and law school admissions whose work demonstrates excellence across collaboration, diversity, growth, responsiveness, and innovation. Bibi distinguished herself among a competitive group of nominees for her steady, student-centered leadership and her clear, measurable impact on widening pathways into the profession.
Bibi brings nearly a decade of admissions experience across CUNY, beginning at Queens College and now at CUNY School of Law, where her responsibilities include: recruitment, application review, pre-law advising, event coordination, communications, admitted student onboarding, and providing personalized feedback to applicants. Her work ensures that every applicant experiences CUNY Law’s mission of access, equity, and public service. Her work is grounded in a personal commitment to advocacy for inclusive, identity-affirming educational spaces and her belief that public institutions should create clear, well-supported pathways for all who aspire to a legal education.
A proud Queens College alum, Bibi holds a BA in Sociology with a minor in Urban Studies. She lives in Queens and remains deeply connected to the communities that formed her.
The AALS Section will present the award at a virtual ceremony on Wednesday, December 10 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern. Faculty and staff are warmly invited to join the celebration at this Zoom link.
