Dear Law School Community:
It’s been wonderful to see more and more of you on campus these past weeks. I’m very much looking forward to reconnecting in person and to restoring campus life.
As we reoccupy the building in greater numbers, please do adhere diligently to our health and safety guidelines: be fully vaccinated and boosted, properly wear a mask, distance where possible, regularly wash your hands, cover your coughs and sneezes, and avoid touching your face.
Let me emphasize: please keep your masks on unless you are alone in an enclosed space or briefly eating or drinking a beverage in one of the designated areas below (note that we opened additional spaces):
Existing dining spaces:
- First floor – along the boulevard windows
- Second floor – Café area
- Third floor – Community Room
- Fourth floor – pantry area
- Fifth floor – pantry area
- Sixth floor – pantry area
New dining spaces:
- Beacon
- Second floor – room behind CUNY Law merchandise store (note that this room has no office number)
- Third floor – along the boulevard windows
In addition to these spaces, remember too that we have a prayer room (5-216), a meditation room(6-313), and a lactation room (2-101). Soon, we will have a telehealth room: the fourth-floor sleep room (4-107) will be converted into a telehealth space; Student Affairs will soon send information on how this space will operate.
We encourage everyone to wear the highest-grade masks to which they have access out of respect for our community and immunocompromised members; the CDC updated its mask guidance on January 14, clarifying that “loosely woven cloth products provide the least protection.” Surgical masks and KN95s provide more protection, while approved and well-fitting respirators such as N95s provide the most protection. We have these masks on hand, so please drop by our nurse practitioner Tina Lesevic’s office in room 3-104 if you need one.
Thank you very much for your cooperation and see you on campus,
Interim Dean Eduardo R. C. Capulong ’91
