The 2020 grad will work to find innovative solutions to education inequality in the U.S., drawing on his experience as a Sorensen Center Fellow in Fortaleza, Brazil

Matthew Glover’s studies at CUNY Law have been defined by his desire to find new, innovative solutions to educational inequality in the United States. As a 2020-2021 Fulbright grantee, he will conduct research regarding the legal history of affirmative action in the Brazilian higher education system; he expects that Brazil’s affirmative action successes will provide a progressive example that the U.S. might follow.

Matt is excited about the prospect of drawing on lessons he learned in Brazil as a Sorensen Center Fellow, as well as his experiences in the Center’s Cuba Comparative Law Program delegation and in the law school’s Community and Economic Development Clinic.
“My time as a CUNY Law student has provided me with so many opportunities to learn and grow. To this day, I am in awe of so many of my classmates and professors. It has been an honor to learn from them and to be exposed to their radical perspectives. Thanks to this community, I know what true commitment to justice looks like—I will do my best to embody this commitment as a Fulbright grantee, ” Matt shares.
