Office of Career Planning Kicks off Pilot Mentoring Program for Alumni and Students
February 7, 2025
The Office of Career Planning kicked off its pilot Mentoring Program, pairing current law students with alumni who can offer guidance on law school, internships, networking, and the legal profession. Five 2L day students, five 2L evening students, and five 3L evening students were matched with alumni mentors based on overlapping interests, creating opportunities for meaningful professional connections.
At the welcome event, students and mentors came together to build relationships, discuss program expectations, and engage in conversations about the realities of legal practice. Through guided discussions and icebreaker activities, mentors shared insights on developing skills, building confidence, and navigating the transition from law school to practice.
This program is about more than professional advice—it’s about support, shared experiences, and opening doors. As students move forward in their legal education, their mentors will be there to offer perspective, encouragement, and the kind of insight that only comes from experience.
Stay tuned for what’s next for both the pairs and the pilot program as the spring semester progresses.
