This Essay responds to After Dobbs: How the Supreme Court Ended Roe but Not Abortion and Abortion in the United States by taking an international lens. Focusing on Latin American countries, the Essay discusses how in the early 2000s Latin American countries developed community networks to ensure access to safe abortion despite criminal abortion laws, and the ways in which these efforts influenced reforms in law and health policy. The Essay then discusses how the United States can learn from these inspiring measures.
