Recruiting Policies

Notice of Non-Discrimination

It is the policy of the CUNY School of Law and the Career Planning Office to provide students and graduates with equal opportunity to obtain employment, without discrimination or segregation on the ground of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender (including identity and expression), sexual orientation, age, or disability. As a condition to using the Law School’s and its Career Planning Office’s services and facilities, employers will observe this policy.

The services of the Career Planning Office are available only to those employers whose practices are consistent with this policy. Please be advised that by interviewing our students, posting a job opening, or participating in our educational and networking programs, you are affirming that your employment practices are in compliance with this policy.

The Career Planning Office reserves the right to restrict or remove a job posting without providing notice to an employer.

With regard to first-year law students, employers should refrain from setting application deadlines any earlier than December 1st. The purpose of this rule is to allow students to acclimate themselves to the study of law. In situations where complying with this guideline would disadvantage CUNY Law 1Ls, employers should email CareerPlanningOffice@law.cuny.edu .

Employers must also abide by the National Association for Law Placement principles. Employers are referred to the City University of New York Non-Discrimination Policy.
