This event is being organized for Black Male Initiative Day at CUNY Law. Black Male Initiative Day is a CUNY-wide event that is celebrated in different way at every campus. At CUNY Law this year, the CUNY Law Men of Color Collective has organized a panel consisting of three Black professors at the law school: Professor and current W. Haywood Burns Chair in Human & Civil Rights Vince Warren, Exec. Director of the Center for Constitional Rights; Professor Marbre Stahly-Butts, Co-founder of Law for Black Lives; and Professor Amanda David, Former Director for Strategic Litigation for Federal Defenders of New York. They will speak on their experience in law school and the legal profession in order to give current and prospective students space to process the difficulties and barriers that people of color face in the legal profession.
All events on this calendar are open to the public, or our students, alumni, faculty, staff, and supporter audiences.
