CUNITY Clean Slate Day, Training, Workshop, Info Session and Panel – How to get and clean rapsheets!
This daylong event begins with training by The Legal Aid Society Community Justice Unit for CUNY students, faculty, staff, and alums on how to help people get their rapsheets. System impacted individuals will simultaneously attend an information session run by the Community Service Society on the Clean Slate Act. CUNY community members will then assist system impacted people in obtaining their rapsheets. Our lunchtime speaker will be CUNY Alum Assemblywoman Catalina Cruz, sponsor of the Clean Slate Act. Finally, the afternoon panel Reentry, Rapsheet, and the Road Ahead which will feature system impacted speakers and CUNY Alum .
The event is sponsored by the CUNY Anti-Racist Task Force and Student Government.
Partners include, Center of Community Alternatives, The Legal Aid Society, Community Justice Unit, and the Community Service Society.
