This Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program will focus on the use of AI and its impact, ethical considerations of legal security and privacy for attorneys and our clients, including both government monitoring and cyber-attacks from outside forces. It will also discuss emerging technology and Fourth Amendment law, exploring the legality of reverse warrants, automatic license plate readers, and data brokers. The ethical requirements for defense attorneys, prosecutors and legal counsel for law enforcement when surveillance tools are utilized in criminal cases will be discussed.

This CLE program is approved for both experienced and newly admitted attorneys. Consistent with NY State regulations, CLE credit will be offered only to those attorneys completing the entire session; attorneys attending only part of a session are not eligible for partial credit. Attorneys arriving late are welcome to attend the program but will not be eligible for credit. Also note that for remote trainings, attorneys must attend on the webinar; we cannot extend credit for audio-only participation.
