DEI Campus Climate Program – “Global Dimensions of Religious Bias”

April 18 @ 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM EDT

“Global Dimensions of Religious Bias”

Professor David Mednicoff, Chair of the Department of Judaic and Near Eastern Studies at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, will explore how  patterns of prejudice against religious groups, such as anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, are often analyzed at the national level and in terms of nation-specific politics and law. Yet the nature and spread of bias against minority religious groups in one society are affected by global political forces and groups in significant ways. This talk looks at global political drivers of anti-Semitism in the US as an example of the transnational nature of prejudice in today’s world.

Food and refreshments will be provided for those that attend the entire program.
