What is the Equal Justice Fellowship
The EJW is a paid post grad two year long fellowship where candidates can create a post-graduate Fellowship project of their own design or can apply to join an established Fellowship program dedicated to serving a specific population or addressing an unmet legal need.
Why Apply for an EJW Fellowship?
As an EJW Fellow, you are given a unique opportunity to work at an organization that inspires you and on a project that fit your specific interests and skills. Further:
- Fellows join a prestigious networks of leaders empowered to pursue the issues they are passionate about
- Fellows can use their unique set of skills and passions to address an unmet legal need
- the Fellowship provides ongoing leadership and development training with experts in the field, as well as mentorship opportunities
For 1Ls, this is opportunity to begin thinking if an EJW fellowship is right for you and to begin understanding what kind of work fellows do. You also may use this as opportunity to view your 1L summer internship in a different light and begin creating project ideas, as well as what classes you want to take in your 2L year.
For 2Ls, this is an opportunity to seriously think about your post grad positions and begin the application process early. Applications are due in September so this is the time to hone down your project ideas and ask fellows how the application process went and what kind of projects are successful.
To learn about this amazing opportunity, please join us to our EJW panel to learn from both an EJW director as well as CUNY law EJW fellows
