A panel discussion among advocates reflecting on lessons of post-9/11 litigation and organizing for the present moment.
This September marks 25 years since the attacks of 9/11 and all that came after, including the United States’ response in the form of the “war on terror.” Just as that response was premised on policies and practices that had long existed around profiling and surveillance, punishment and detention, and uses of military force abroad, the government actions and narratives of the present also have predecessors, some in the post-9/11 era. Join advocates involved in organizing and litigation then and now for a discussion reflecting on how we got here and what we do now, drawing on lessons learned from the advocacy of that time.
