Over 35,000 people are incarcerated in New York State’s prisons. 3 out of 4 are Black or brown. Thousands are serving decade-long sentences. At the Symposium, hear from New York’s Chief Judge and leader of our highest court, Deputy Senate Majority Leader Michael Gianaris, lawmakers, and formerly incarcerated leaders to learn about the Second Look Act and the fight for sentencing reform.

People can change, and our laws must change as well.

This event is co-hosted by CUNY’s Second Look Project and the Center for Community Alternatives (CCA).
