Kristen Clarke, 2025 Burns Chair and former U.S. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights will be joined by Joy Reid, award-winning political analyst, bestselling author, and host of the Joy Reid Show, to examine the enduring arc of civil rights advocacy. Drawing from Reid’s recent book, Medgar and Myrlie: Medgar Evers and the Love Story That Awakened America, Clarke and Reid will examine how historical racial justice movements can inform contemporary strategies for resilience, resistance, and sustained social transformation. They will also discuss the vital role of journalism in exposing social and economic inequality.
