Hear about work being done by the CED Clinic, in collaboration with the National Conference of Black Lawyers’ New York Chapter to repeal the convict labor scheme within the NYS Department of Corrections. The Corcraft convict labor enterprise is a byproduct of New York’s codification of the “exception clause” of the 13th Amendment. Hear individuals who were formerly incarcerated share their experiences of mandated labor for for .25 per hour. Learn how to join our redistributive justice campaign to repeal this exploitative scheme, to coincide with the 2026 commemoration of Juneteenth.
